Hi all,
All of my templates, except for two, are liquid width. Absolute positioning, for liquid, to me, seem more durable, can't wrap. This template series; head, left, right, and center; all absolute; z-indexed; and the center column is 100% page width, with 50% wide centered content; a move which allows for a full width footer. Right & Tabs Navs inspired revisions from Andreas & TrueCasper.
<<< The left menu is a simple nested UL menu, easily capable of java flyout. What's so cool about it, is that it flys out in latest Firefox browser, with no java scripts or js files. Try and see. Needs only three scripts for full cross-browser compatibility, one in the head, and two in the body. Can also be used just like it is, or with slight changes in the css to display any desired indented submenus. For conversion to java flyout, the scripts are enclosed seperately, to comply with this site's rules.
The first two templates (A & B) are plain, no background images. Below, several similar versions, some with background images. What I did was to create a background image that is 775px height and 2500px wide, shaped like an inverted "L". The menu part is 300x550px, and the top header area is 225x2500. What I did was to shift it above top 125px and left beyond left by 8%, so that you now see 125px height header, and about 200px wide menu part. All is adjustble, in CSS. and slice-able. The background template files are enclosed. Click, version "A", "B", "C", "D", "E" , "F"
This template validates Xhtml transitional & CSS. Free, open source, no strings attached. Tested in IE, FF, DW, and Nvu; uniform appearance, so very versatile. For newbies, easily personalized and customized using the freeware Editor "Nvu", in graphic designer (wysiwyg) mode or coder (text) mode. I would enjoy seeing any active versions; can contact me through this site, or use the site's member forums for support. Also, not required, but please consider leaving the link in the footer, back to this site. Take a peek at my other premium designs, here. Free java flyout menus and many extras, available at my own site, "here".
Enjoy,
Mikey (whowrotewhat)
